Emergency First Response (EFR)

Emergency First Response (EFR) - Logo Emergency First Response (EFR) is a comprehensive CPR and First Aid Program consisting of Primary Care (CPR), Secondary Care (First Aid), and Care for Children. Based on internationally recognized medical guidelines for emergency care (ILCOR & Guidelines 2000), EFR follows the same patient care guidelines used by medical professionals but at the lay rescuer level. Learning takes place in a non-stressful environment, using the latest patient care techniques such as Automated External Defibrillators (AED) and Oxygen Administration.

EFR meets OSHA guidelines 29 CFR 1910.151, as well as the US Coast Guard First Aid / CPR standards for merchant marine licensure. EFR also meets the stringent California OSHA requirements for First Aid and CPR. EFR certification is valid for 2 years.

The EFR course is conducted over two evenings during the same week and all training and certification materials are provided.

Cost

The cost of the EFR course is $75, which includes use of all materials needed and the cost of registering your course completion with PADI.  In addition, you will need to purchase the student manual at a cost of $13.95.

Schedule

The next EFR Class will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, May 13 and 15,  from 6 p.m. to ~9:30 p.m.
