SCUBA REVIEW / REFRESHER COURSE
Are you a certified diver who just hasn't had time to go diving recently? Would you like to start diving again but feel like you don't remember all of the dive skills and safety practices? If so, this course is for you.If you completed a certification course some time ago but you haven't been diving in the last year or several years, you should consider taking a Scuba Review or Refresher course before you attempt your next ocean dive here in Monterey or go on your next dive vacation.
The Scuba Review/Refresher course includes:
- Self-paced study via the PADI Scuba Tune Up Guidebook. This book is available in the shop and it contains quizzes and reading material to refresh your memory on dive theory and safe diving practices.
- Classroom session. You and your instructor will go over the material in the Scuba Tune Up Guidebook to ensure that you are up-to-date on dive theory. You will be reintroduced to dive gear and you will practice assembling the dive equipment you will need for the a pool (or calm ocean) session.
- Pool (or calm ocean) practice/training. You will practice a variety of diving skills in a pool session (or in a calm ocean setting if this is your preference and conditions permit.)
Cost
Cost of the course is $150. This covers the cost of the classroom time, pool time, equipment rental (wetsuit, hood, gloves, tanks, weights, BCD, regulator, etc.), instructor fee and the PADI Scuba Tune Up Guidebook.E-Learning Option:
- Skip Step 1 and 2 (above) by taking the PADI e-Learning Refresher course. Find out more about this about option at: https://www.padi.com/elearning
- If you do the PADI e-Learning, and you feel comfortable going the ocean (rather than the pool) for your dive training and practice, cost will be $125 per person. This will cover the cost of the equipment and the Divemaster/Instructor fee for 1 training/practice dive.
Pre-requisites:
- You must be a certified PADI Open Water diver (or have proof of certification from some other dive agency).
- We recommend that you have your own personal snorkeling gear: Mask, Snorkel, Fins and Boots. If you don't have these items, we have a wide selection in the store and will provide you with a 10% purchase discount, or we can include these items in the gear that your rent from us for this course.
Schedule. This course is typically completed in a one day session and conducted as private training, either 1-on-1 or for your small group. So, let us know when you'd like to do it and we'll do our best to meet your needs.
